Our different lives are so distinct
And yet so consummately linked
Apart in our dependent selves
Like a single cupboard’s separate shelves
What will it take to make us see
You can’t be you unless I’m me?
That hurting one, you’re hurting all
That pulling me down will make you fall?
“One love, one heart”, Bob Marley said
“One body!” declare the scriptures I’ve read
One sun, one world, that freely give
The life we’ve not yet learnt to live
And will we learn!? Will that time come
When we remember where we’re from?
When doing the very best we can,
For life, becomes each person’s plan?
